Helpful Information
Billing & Insurance
Kennetz Kids is accepting self-pay clients, Katie Beckett funded clients, and HSA/FSA form of payment.
*OUT OF NETWORK CLIENTS: Kennetz Kids will provide a Superbill, upon request, for private insurance reimbursment.
A "superbill" for therapy is a detailed invoice provided by a therapist to a client, outlining the services received during therapy sessions, including diagnosis codes. The client submits the claim to their insurance company for potential reimbursement, especially if the therapist is considered "out-of-network" with the insurance plan. The “superbill” acts as a receipt that contains all the necessary information for insurance processing.

FAQs

An Occupational Therapist can help with any activity that a child must do or wants to do on a daily basis. We are the rehabilitative profession that is the most holistic in nature and we may appear to take on several roles in support of development. We help with playing, eating, socializing, dressing, sensory processing, handwriting, participating in school activities & routines, processing auditory information, follow through of instructions, regulating emotions, coping skills, sleeping, and all hygiene activities. Think of all the activities that make humans unique, that’s what we help with! A child’s primary occupation is play; it is through play that important life skills are learned and refined. Skills learned through play help to lay the foundation for the skills we will need to live independent, meaningful lives as adults. All individuals can benefit from OT!

Kennetz Kids will support children ages 0-12 in the home, school, or community setting. Please inquire if your child is older than 12. Some clients >12 years may be accepted on a case by case basis. Please do not hesitate to reach out.

Kennetz Kids does not directly bill commercial insurance companies. Kennetz Kids is able to provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. It is your responsibility to call and ask your insurance provider if a Superbill will be accepted for partial reimbursement. Payment for all services must be received at the time of scheduled visit.
-
Kennetz Kids uses a HIPPA compliant and encrypted platform for online payment. Clients will receive a link to the patient portal via email. This link will include a credit card authorization form and a credit card will be securely kept on file for payment of services. An invoice is always provided to clients prior to sessions and a monthly statement can also be given, upon request.
-
Kennetz Kids understands that life situations may arise which may impede the ability for clients to give a 24 hour notice of cancellation (illness, family emergency, deaths, etc).
Clients must cancel 24 hours prior to visit. Clients are allowed 1 “freebie” and after this will be charged $20 for cancellations <24 hours prior to session; $40 for no-shows. If two consecutive sessions are missed and there is no communication received from client, you will be subject to permanent removal.
It is important to practice self-care and know that therapy burnout is real. Please hear this, it is okay to cancel therapy because your family needs or wants a free day! Kennetz Kids work hard, but they play harder!
-
If sessions are cancelled with >24 hours notice and pending schedule availability, the OT will happily reschedule your visit.
-
30-45 minutes, the end of the session will be used to review session activities and provide the caregiver with strategies for carryover.
Evaluations and re-evaluations are usually an hour long. Complex cases may require an evaluation to be divided into 2 parts or last for 1.5 hours. The OT will go with your child’s lead and there is no need to stress and have anything set up. The purpose of the evaluation is to observe the child in the natural environment and gain better understanding of strengths and areas in need of support.
-
This will depend on several factors, such as: complexity of medical/psychological/emotional factors, caregiver compliance and carryover, attendance, etc.
The OT will prioritize and maintain constant collaboration with the family to ensure progress is satisfactory and modifications to treatment plan will be made as needed.
-
This will largely depend on family needs and the evaluation results. Frequency will be established following the evaluation. The most common frequency given is 1x/week. This will vary from child to child. Not all children need weekly therapy.
-
Add On Services are $250 and are usually best suited for children that have not qualified for OT services in the past, but whose parents would like support in understanding some areas of difficulty (feeding, bedtime routine, sleep habits, how to embed developmental activities for infants, etc). The OT can come to your home, classroom, or community setting in which difficulty is experienced or to provide in depth education (these services may occur after “typical work hours”). The OT will use clinical observation to assess areas in need of support and will follow up with an action plan and consult as needed.
These services will not be able to be billed through insurance and will be self-pay.
